PlantCML Director Elected to E9-1-1
Institute Board
Temecula,
CA — The E9-1-1 Institute, a non-profit
organization which provides administrative and policy support to the
Congressional E9-1-1 Caucus, recently announced the election of Paul Fahey,
director of external affairs for PlantCML, to its board of directors for the
2008-2010 term. “I have been proud to be involved with
the E9-1-1 Institute for the last five years
and it is an honor to continue my commitment
to the organization in this new leadership
capacity,” said Fahey. “Joining the
institute’s board is directly in line with
my work at PlantCML and our commitment to be
in tune with, and leading on, important
emergency communications issues facing our
industry and our nation.”
As the administrative arm of the E9-1-1
Caucus, the E9-1-1 Institute exists to
promote education and awareness of emergency
communications issues at the Federal level.
In addition, the E9-1-1 Institute also hosts
an annual emergency communications technology
fair on Capitol Hill and an awards banquet to
honor outstanding public safety operations
and other unsung industry heroes.
“As we began to evaluate our old call
processing system, we knew it was time to
make the switch to an IP-capable technology,”
said Roger Wilson, executive director for
Walker County 9-1-1. “Our industry is rapidly
moving toward the adoption of Next Generation
9-1-1 (NG9-1-1), and we didn’t want to invest
in a system that couldn’t be upgraded to meet
future requirements. Sentinel Patriot was the
answer for us.”
Before joining PlantCML two years ago, Fahey
served as executive director of the State
9-1-1 Department in Massachusetts. He also
served as chair of both the Institute’s
Nominating Committee and the Policy Group of
the IP Issues Committee, as well as a member
of the Events Committee. In his new role,
Fahey will support the E9-1-1 Institute’s
continued focus on the evolution and
education of NextGen 9-1-1, addressing
emergency communications issues in 2009 and
beyond.
“We are proud of Paul for his ongoing work
with the E9-1-1 Institute and fully support
his enhanced commitment as a board member,”
said Tim Fuller, president of PlantCML. “As
an industry leader and advocate for 9-1-1
communications, we look forward to broadening
our relationship with the E9-1-1 Institute.”
